## Executive Summary
A 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite in the Sahara hints at a vanished Mars-sized world in our solar system’s early days

## Intelligence Brief
A meteorite discovered in the Sahara Desert contains evidence suggesting the existence of a lost protoplanet—nearly the size of Mars—that once orbited the Sun. The rare specimen, estimated to be 4.5 billion years old, exhibits chemical and isotopic signatures inconsistent with known solar system bodies, according to early analysis.

Coverage from *Scientific American*, *Smithsonian Magazine*, and *Universe Today* highlights the meteorite’s potential to rewrite early solar system history. Researchers describe it as the first physical clue to a protoplanet that may have been destroyed or ejected during the solar system’s violent formation.

Watch for follow-up studies on the meteorite’s composition and implications for planetary migration theories. If confirmed, this could reshape models of how Earth and other planets formed.
