## Executive Summary
Public perception of the United States as an ally has dropped to 11% among European populations, according to recent survey data.

## Intelligence Brief
A new poll indicates a significant shift in European opinion, with only 1 in 10 respondents identifying the United States as an ally. This trend is accompanied by an expressed preference for increased regional defense spending and a greater reliance on European-manufactured weaponry.

Coverage from Reuters, CBS News, and The Daily Beast highlights a notable decline in trust, framing the shift as a collapse in faith. Euractiv coverage focuses on the implications for defense policy and European sovereignty.

Future developments will hinge on whether this trend influences formal defense policy adjustments within the European Union. Whether this shift in public sentiment will lead to tangible changes in international diplomatic partnerships remains to be seen.
