> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-06-12 01:07 UTC · Category: Entertainment

## Executive Summary
A conservative talk show veteran tests CBS’s morning lineup with a guest-host stint

## Intelligence Brief
The move follows her departure from ABC’s daytime lineup and aligns with CBS’s recent shift toward more politically diverse on-air talent. Coverage highlights the unusual pairing of a conservative commentator with a news-driven morning show, with outlets framing it as both a career pivot and a strategic gambit for CBS’s ratings strategy. Outlets including *Variety*, *Entertainment Weekly*, and *The Daily Beast* emphasize the contrast between Hasselbeck’s background—rooted in opinion-based programming—and the news-focused format of *CBS Mornings*.

Speculation about her long-term role remains limited, though *TVLine* and *People.com* confirm the try-out is imminent. Watch for reactions from CBS executives and viewer feedback, which could determine whether this becomes a permanent hire. If successful, it may prompt other networks to experiment with cross-format talent.

Coverage does not yet specify whether Hasselbeck’s political stance will factor into her hosting approach or audience reception.
