The brief
FX has announced an unscheduled standalone prequel episode for *Adults*, focusing on the origin of character Paul. The episode will air on FXX and Hulu ahead of the show’s second season, marking a shift toward serialized storytelling similar to Hulu’s standalone origin episodes for other series. Coverage from outlets including *Deadline*, *TheWrap*, and *TVLine* highlights the episode’s positioning as a promotional tool and narrative expansion.
The announcement was made alongside updates for other shows like *Slow Horses* Season 6, though *Adults*’ prequel stands out for its timing and standalone format. No release date or further details on the episode’s content have been confirmed. Watch for official confirmation of the prequel’s premiere window and whether it will include new character introductions or deeper lore.
The move may signal FX’s broader strategy for leveraging standalone content to build anticipation for upcoming seasons.
