The brief

The Philadelphia Phillies have placed outfielder Adolis García on a 60-day injured list due to a torn lat muscle, sidelining him through at least August. Coverage notes the injury is severe enough to require surgical intervention, per *USA Today* and *MLB.com*, while *The New York Times* frames it as part of broader roster challenges, including Trea Turner’s slump and farm system depth concerns.

Outlets including *Inquirer.com* and *MLB Trade Rumors* highlight the immediate roster adjustments: Gabriel Rincones Jr. has been called up from the minors to replace García, while veteran outfielder Kyle Hill joins the team. The move underscores the Phillies’ reliance on developmental prospects amid key injuries.

Next steps hinge on García’s recovery timeline and the performance of Rincones Jr., whose call-up tests the team’s minor-league pipeline. Speculation may also grow around trade targets if Turner’s slump persists or if other positional gaps emerge.
