## Executive Summary
A suspected rabid pack of jackals attacked vacationers at a Sea of Galilee campsite, sending 11 people to the hospital.

## Intelligence Brief
According to reports, 11 campers were injured during the encounter and subsequently required hospitalization for their injuries. The severity of the attacks was highlighted by a witness account cited in the coverage, which noted that one victim had her whole face covered in blood following the animal encounter. This event has drawn significant attention due to the number of casualties and the location of the attack in a popular vacation area. Multiple news outlets have provided coverage of the incident, including The Times of Israel, Ynetnews, and The Jerusalem Post. These sources collectively emphasize the scale of the attack, noting that a pack of animals was involved rather than a single animal.

The Times of Israel specifically reported that authorities expressed fears that the jackal involved in the biting was rabid. Ynetnews and The Jerusalem Post reinforced the casualty count, confirming that 11 people were sent to the hospital for medical treatment after the injuries sustained at the Sea of Galilee campsite. Contextual details provided by the coverage indicate that the primary concern for health authorities is the possibility of rabies. The Jerusalem Post described the animals as suspected rabid jackals, which elevates the medical urgency for the 11 injured campers. The fact that the attack took place at a beach campsite suggests that vacationers were targeted while recreating in a natural environment.

The presence of a pack of animals suggests a coordinated or group behavior that contributed to the number of people bitten and injured during the event. Future developments to watch involve the confirmation of the animals' health status by authorities to determine if rabies was present. Based on reports from The Times of Israel, officials are currently acting on the fear that the animal is rabid. Monitoring will likely focus on the medical recovery of the 11 hospitalized campers and any further warnings issued by authorities regarding wildlife behavior at the Sea of Galilee beaches. Coverage does not yet specify if the animals were captured or if further safety measures have been implemented at the campsite.
