Outlets including **Gizmodo**, **t3.com**, and **DC Rainmaker** emphasize the shift as a strategic move to phase out hardware limitations, with comparisons drawn to how software updates render older devices less competitive.

The focus remains on AI and efficiency gains rather than hardware specifications. Watch for potential **hardware refreshes** tied to WatchOS 27, as Apple may push newer models to align with the updated software.

Compatibility with third-party apps and wearables could also expand, given the AI overhaul’s broader ecosystem implications.
