The brief

The Atlanta Braves have activated outfielder Drake Baldwin from the injured list, clearing a spot on the 40-man roster. In tandem, the team has outrighted left-handed pitcher Austin Wynns to the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers, removing him from MLB protection. Baldwin is set to begin a rehab assignment with Gwinnett on Saturday before returning to the Braves’ active roster on Tuesday.

Coverage from CBS Sports, Battery Power, Yahoo Sports, MLB.com, and MLB Trade Rumors highlights the roster move as a strategic adjustment following Baldwin’s recovery. The Braves’ decision to outright Wynns—rather than trade him—suggests a focus on internal depth and cost management ahead of the trade deadline. No details on potential suitors for Wynns have been reported.

Teams with roster spots to fill may show interest in Wynns, though no immediate trade discussions have been confirmed.
