## Executive Summary
Nintendo Direct shatters summer viewership records, with Zelda’s trailer topping the charts

## Intelligence Brief
Nintendo’s latest Direct streamed to a peak audience that coverage calls the highest of any summer showcase, and the trailer for Zelda: Ocarina of Time emerged as the most‑watched segment. Yahoo Tech highlighted the reveal of Resident Evil, Alien: Isolation 2 and Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

GoNintendo and Nintendo Life both reported the record viewership claim. Polygon.com noted that Summer Game Fest altered two criteria in the 2026 Game‑of‑the‑Year race, while Top Gear published an opinion piece describing the festival as a week‑long, unskippable ad.

Future coverage will likely track any additional game announcements from Nintendo and monitor how the new GOTY criteria affect titles unveiled at the Direct. Observers will watch for follow‑up reports on audience metrics and reactions to the Zelda trailer.
