The brief
Sony has reportedly shifted expectations for *God of War: Laufey*, pushing its launch to the first half of 2027 instead of 2026. Coverage cites an industry insider’s claim that the delay aligns with Santa Monica Studio’s traditional March-April release window for major titles. The news follows months of speculation about the game’s status, with Sony previously expressing optimism for a 2026 debut.
Multiple gaming outlets—including *PlayFront*, *Indy100*, *GameGPU*, *Wccftech*, and *Push Square*—are reporting the shift, framing it as a strategic move rather than a setback. No official confirmation from Sony has been issued. Fans and analysts will watch for Sony’s formal announcement, likely tied to a broader 2027 PS5 game lineup reveal.
The delay could also signal ongoing development challenges, though coverage does not yet specify technical or creative hurdles.
