## Executive Summary
McDonald's is reviving a fan-favorite dessert discontinued in the 1990s as part of a limited-time summer release.

## Intelligence Brief
McDonald's has announced the return of a specific menu item that was originally discontinued during the 1990s. This revival is scheduled to take place during the current summer season. According to reporting from Syracuse.com, the item is making what is described as an epic return after having been absent from the menu for several decades. The company has reintroduced this offering for a limited time, meaning it will not be a permanent fixture of the current menu layout. Coverage from Fox News emphasizes that the return of this decades-old favorite is linked to the America 250 celebrations.

The reporting highlights that the decision to bring back the item follows years of consistent customer requests for its return. Allrecipes further characterizes the item as being one of the best desserts available, noting that the company quietly brought the product back to its locations. To understand the context of this move, it is necessary to note that the product had been unavailable to the general public since the 1990s. The timing of the relaunch coincides with the America 250 anniversary events, suggesting a strategic alignment between the brand's nostalgia and national celebrations. The persistence of customer demand over several years served as the catalyst for the company to reevaluate the item's status.

This trend of bringing back discontinued products is a response to long-term consumer preferences and nostalgia for previous menu cycles. Looking ahead, the duration of this return remains a primary point of interest since Allrecipes specifies the availability is for a limited time only. Future developments will likely depend on the scale of the consumer response during the summer window. Because the coverage focuses on the limited nature of the rollout, observers will be monitoring if and when the item is removed from the menu again. No specific end date for the promotion was mentioned in the reports from Syracuse.com or Fox News, leaving the exact timeline of the availability open for now.
