## Executive Summary
Kenya marks the second anniversary of 2024 anti-government protests as police blockade Nairobi amid ongoing demands for justice.

## Intelligence Brief
Kenyans are holding marches to commemorate the second anniversary of the 2024 anti-government protests. In anticipation of the demonstrations, authorities have established police barricades that have effectively cut off Nairobi from other parts of the country. Local law enforcement officials have characterized the current Gen Z protest activities as illegal.

Coverage from outlets including Reuters, AP News, BBC, and Al Jazeera emphasizes the security measures taken by police to block roads leading into the capital. Additional reports from the Daily Nation and Citizen Digital highlight local political disputes, noting allegations of financing for individuals involved in the demonstrations and mentions of potential international legal consequences.

Future developments remain dependent on the status of the planned demonstrations and the enforcement of the current police barricades. Coverage does not yet specify the duration of the road closures or the status of ongoing investigations into the 2024 events.
