> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-06-26 22:07 UTC · Category: Technology

## Executive Summary
GTA 6 pre‑orders are reportedly soaring on PS5, dwarfing Xbox demand amid corporate denials.

## Intelligence Brief
Reports indicate that PS5 pre‑orders of GTA 6 are outpacing Xbox by a ratio of roughly six to one, with one outlet suggesting eight times as many copies on the Sony platform.

Microsoft has publicly denied the pre‑order figures, stating they do not represent actual pre‑order data. The denial appears across coverage from Dark Horizons, Eurogamer, Push Square and Windows Central. Kotaku highlights that Xbox pre‑order sales are still breaking records despite the PS5 surge, while the BBC notes that GTA 6 will be download‑only.

Future coverage will likely focus on official sales data, any further corporate statements, and clarification of the download‑only distribution model as the launch window approaches.
