# The unsettling possibility raised by quantum gravity is that time may not be a basic ingredient of reality. It may be something that emerges only inside the universe, from entanglement, entropy, and relationships between physical systems

## Executive Summary
Recent theoretical developments in quantum gravity suggest that time may not be a fundamental component of reality.

## Intelligence Brief
Physicists are currently debating the foundational nature of time, exploring hypotheses that it may emerge from entanglement, entropy, and the relationships between physical systems. Coverage indicates that time might exist independently of physical change or potentially flow in reverse across multiple dimensions.

Reports from Korben, Popular Mechanics, IAI TV, ERC, and Space Daily highlight a shift toward viewing time as a non-basic ingredient of the universe. The discourse focuses on the implications of quantum gravity and how these models describe the mechanics of the universe.

Future developments will depend on the scientific community's ability to reconcile these theoretical models with existing observations. Coverage does not yet specify when or how these theories will be subjected to empirical testing.
