Threads reaches 500 million users but faces a cross‑posting backlash from Facebook and Instagram users

## Intelligence Brief
Threads, Meta’s Instagram‑based text platform, has surpassed 500 million users according to coverage from Inc.com, Business Model Analyst, The New York Times and others. Reports highlight that many users are reposting the same content across Facebook, Instagram and Threads, prompting Business Insider to note a problem with cross‑posting.

Analysts at Business Model Analyst observe Meta is not aggressively monetizing the service, while TheGrio examines the platform’s role for Black users. Future coverage will monitor whether Meta adjusts cross‑posting policies, how the platform’s user growth evolves, and any steps toward monetization as noted by Business Model Analyst.
