## Executive Summary
GLAAD’s latest study shows LGBTQ characters in film hit a three‑year low, sparking industry scrutiny.

## Intelligence Brief
A new GLAAD survey reports a decline in LGBTQ characters in film for the third consecutive year, marking the lowest representation in three years. Out Magazine, GO Magazine, The Guardian and The Hollywood Reporter cite the study, noting record lows in mainstream movies and a “complete absence” of LGBTQ figures in 2025 animated and family releases, while GLAAD’s own release highlights a few standout inclusive successes.

Coverage suggests future monitoring of GLAAD’s forthcoming reports and the industry’s response to the noted gaps, especially in family‑oriented animation.
