## Executive Summary
The New York Mets have promoted Zack Short to the major league roster following a significant injury to Mark Vientos.

## Intelligence Brief
Utility infielder Zack Short has been selected by the Mets, marking his third stint with the organization. This roster adjustment coincides with Mark Vientos being placed on the injured list after sustaining a right hand fracture during a game against the Royals.

Coverage from MLB.com, ESPN, The New York Times, SNY, USA Today, MLive.com, and MLB Trade Rumors confirms that Vientos is expected to miss six to eight weeks. Reports indicate the injury occurred after Vientos was hit by a pitch.

Future updates will track Vientos' recovery progress and the duration of Short’s role on the active roster. Coverage does not yet specify how the team will manage the first base position during Vientos' absence beyond these immediate transactions.
