## Intelligence Brief
An incident has occurred during the fifth day of the San Fermín bull run festival in Pamplona, Spain, where a runner was gored in the face by a bull. According to reports from Yahoo, the event involved six bulls charging through the crowded streets of the city. CBS News further specifies that in addition to the individual who was gored in the face, 12 other people were hurt. The situation is described by Yahoo as chaotic, illustrating the inherent dangers of the traditional event as participants attempt to run ahead of the animals. Broad coverage of the festival's dangers has been provided by several major outlets. Yahoo and HuffPost both highlighted the specific instance of the runner being gored in the face.

CBS News reported on the broader casualty count, including the twelve other injured parties. Visual documentation of the event has been circulated via AP News, which provided photos of the revelers filling the streets of Pamplona, while Reuters focused on scenes from the streets. Other regional outlets such as the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, the Springfield News-Sun, and The Lufkin Daily News have also tracked the ongoing events of the festival. Contextual details from the coverage indicate that the festival attracts a diverse international crowd, though this often leads to serious injuries. The Sun reported that a 24-year-old British tourist was knocked to the ground and trampled, requiring a trip to the hospital, while 10 others were wounded in a separate or related instance. Additionally, CBS News noted a man from Miami Beach who was trampled by bulls; despite the injury, this individual stated that he intends to return to the festival next year.

DW.com previously noted the opening of the festival in Pamplona. Future developments to monitor include the medical status of the runner gored in the face and the 12 others reported injured by CBS News. The coverage does not yet specify the long-term condition of the victims or if further safety measures will be implemented for the remaining days of the festival. Observers will likely look for updated reports on the number of wounded participants as the event continues in Pamplona, given the patterns of trampling and goring described by The Sun and other reporting agencies.
