## Executive Summary
A deadly shooting involving an exchange of gunfire at Toronto's Salsa on St. Clair festival has left two dead and several others injured.

## Intelligence Brief
A violent incident occurred near the Salsa on St. According to reports from The Guardian and WISH-TV, the shooting took place in the vicinity of the festival, leading to a rapid police response and the immediate cancellation of the event. The casualties include two people who were killed and a minimum of four others who were injured, though some reports from People.com and NBC News state that a total of six people were injured in the attack. Major media outlets, including NBC News and Global News, emphasize that the violence stemmed from a pair of gunmen who shot at one another. Global News specifically describes the event as an exchange of gunfire that occurred in the middle of the street festival.

The Toronto Star provided live coverage of the scene as police worked to investigate the area and ensure public safety. CTV News has described the ongoing police effort as a complex investigation, while Yahoo reporting notes that Toronto police have officially condemned the shooting, describing the act as despicable. This event is particularly significant because it took place during the Salsa on St. Clair festival, a public gathering that was abruptly halted due to the gunfire. The context provided by the coverage suggests a high-density public environment where civilians were present during a targeted confrontation between two shooters.

The immediate cancellation of the festival and the deployment of police to manage an active shooter threat highlight the severity of the disruption to the local community and the danger posed by the gunfire in a crowded urban setting. Authorities are currently focused on locating the perpetrators, as DW.com and The Guardian confirm that the suspects remain at large. The investigation is being characterized as complex by CTV News, suggesting that forensic analysis and witness statements are being gathered to understand the sequence of events. Observers are waiting for police to provide updates on the identity of the shooters or any potential arrests. Future developments will likely center on the recovery of the seriously injured victims and the progress of the manhunt for the gunmen who fled the scene.
