## Executive Summary
Zahara and Maddox Jolie-Pitt have taken legal steps to officially remove Brad Pitt's surname from their names via public newspaper advertisements.

## Intelligence Brief
Zahara, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has taken a significant legal step to remove the surname 'Pitt' from her name. According to coverage from TMZ, Yahoo, and Just Jared, Zahara has taken out a newspaper advertisement to confirm this name change. This action is described by USA Today as a final step in the process, while Just Jared notes that it fulfills a major legal requirement necessary for the removal of her father's last name. The process involves a formal petition to change her name, as reported by Complex. Multiple media outlets are tracking the development, with Page Six and Newser reporting that Zahara was not the only child involved in this process.

These outlets specify that Maddox, another of Brad Pitt's children, has also taken out a newspaper advertisement to officially drop 'Pitt' from his last name. The coverage from The Express Tribune and parade.com emphasizes the legal nature of these actions, framing the advertisements as a requirement of the petition process to legally distance the children from their father's surname. To understand the context of these events, it is necessary to recognize that the individuals involved are the children of high-profile figures Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The act of taking out a newspaper advertisement is a procedural element of a legal petition for a name change. This specific step serves as public notice of the intent to alter one's legal identity.

The coverage highlights that this is a formal legal transition for Zahara and Maddox, moving away from the hyphenated 'Jolie-Pitt' designation toward a new legal status. Looking forward, the reports indicate that these advertisements are part of an ongoing legal petition. Observers will likely look for confirmation that the petitions have been finalized by the courts. While the current coverage focuses on the public notice stage, the sequence of events suggests that the legal requirements for the name change are being completed. There is currently no information in the provided reports regarding reactions from the parents or the specific dates when the name changes will be fully ratified by legal authorities.
