## Executive Summary
Michigan basketball reshapes its coaching staff with the hiring of longtime Brown head coach Mike Martin following a high-profile departure.

## Intelligence Brief
The University of Michigan basketball program is undergoing significant leadership changes following the departure of Dusty May, who has left to take a position with the Mavericks. In the wake of this transition, Mike Boynton Jr. has officially shed his interim tag to become a full-time coach at Michigan. Adding to these staffing shifts, the program has hired Mike Martin, who previously served as the head coach at Brown University, to join the Michigan basketball staff in an assistant coaching capacity. This series of moves marks a new era for the team's operational structure. Coverage of these developments is widespread across sports media and regional outlets. ESPN and The Detroit News have both reported on Mike Martin's transition from his longtime head coaching role at Brown to the assistant role at Michigan.

WJAR explicitly noted that the Brown University men's basketball coach is leaving for this specific assistant position. Additionally, Yahoo Sports has detailed the transition of Mike Boynton Jr. into a full-time role, while UM Hoops.com has provided an analytical look at the hiring of Martin through a series of five thoughts on the move. Contextually, these changes are driven by the vacancy left by Dusty May's move to the Mavericks. The arrival of new leadership has already led to immediate recruiting activity. According to MLive.com, the new Michigan basketball coach has already extended his first recruiting offer to the son of a Michigan State University legend. This move indicates an aggressive start to the new regime's strategy to build the roster.

Hoops HQ further describes this period as a "second act" for Mike Boynton, highlighting the shift from interim status to a permanent fixture on the coaching staff. Observers will likely monitor how Mike Martin's experience as a head coach at Brown integrates into the assistant role at Michigan. Further attention is expected on the recruiting trail, specifically regarding the offer extended to the son of the MSU legend and whether that prospect will commit to the program. The official trajectory of the team under the full-time leadership of Mike Boynton Jr. and the supporting staff including Martin will be a primary focus as the program moves past the Dusty May era.
