## Executive Summary
Konami is expanding the Super Bomberman Collection by adding the formerly Japan-exclusive Panic Bomber W for free on August 20, 2026.

## Intelligence Brief
Konami has announced a new update for the Super Bomberman Collection that will integrate a specific title known as Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber W. According to reports from Gematsu, GoNintendo, and Nintendo Everything, this addition is scheduled to take place on August 20, 2026. The update will provide the game to players for free, expanding the existing library of titles within the compilation. This release marks the arrival of the title as an 8th game for the collection on certain platforms, as noted by Push Square regarding the PS5 version. Significant media coverage from various outlets highlights the nature of this release. ComicBook.com emphasizes that the Konami game originally dates back to 1995 and is returning next month for the first time ever.

Shane the Gamer and Nintendo Everything both confirm that the update is free of charge. Time Extension specifically frames this as the addition of another Japan-exclusive Bomberman entry to the collection, underscoring the move to bring regional titles to a broader audience. The consistent reporting across these seven sources establishes a clear timeline and delivery method for the content. To understand the context of this update, it is necessary to note the history of the source material. Panic Bomber W was previously a Japan-exclusive title, meaning it had not been released in other markets until this current initiative. The game's origins trace back to 1995, making it a retro title that has remained unavailable to the general global public for over three decades.

By adding it to the Super Bomberman Collection, Konami is effectively preserving and distributing a piece of legacy software that was once restricted by geographical boundaries. Looking forward, the primary point of interest is the official deployment of the update on August 20, 2026. While the coverage confirms the game is being added for free and will bring the total count to eight games on PS5, there is no further information regarding other potential additions. Users of the Super Bomberman Collection can expect the integration of Panic Bomber W to occur on the specified date. Coverage does not specify if further Japan-exclusive titles are planned for the compilation beyond this specific announcement.
