> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-07-13 21:07 UTC · Category: World

## Executive Summary
The U.S. military is set to enforce a new blockade on Iran amid the collapse of a previous cease-fire and mounting economic volatility.

## Intelligence Brief
This action follows the stated collapse of a prior cease-fire agreement. Officials have signaled an intent to enforce maritime tolls and are seeking financial contributions from Gulf countries for the protection of the Strait of Hormuz.

Coverage from The New York Times, The Hill, and The Wall Street Journal highlights that the transition coincides with an escalation of strikes between U.S. and Iranian forces. Media reports indicate that this move has triggered immediate reactions in global markets, including rising oil prices and a decline in the Nasdaq.

Future reports will track the commencement of the blockade at the stated time. Coverage does not yet specify the long-term impact on regional military engagement or the extent of financial commitments sought from Gulf allies.
