## Executive Summary
Microsoft is testing a new Copilot 'PC insights' feature for Windows 11 designed to diagnose system slowdowns and hardware health issues.

## Intelligence Brief
Microsoft is currently testing a new feature for Windows 11 called Copilot PC Insights. This AI-powered tool is designed to help users diagnose various performance issues by identifying exactly what is slowing down their computer. According to reports from Windows Report and CyberSecurityNews, the feature allows the Copilot app to provide live hardware information and troubleshoot system resource problems. Users can ask Copilot specifically why their PC is experiencing lag, and the tool aims to provide real answers regarding the health and status of the device's hardware. Coverage from multiple tech outlets highlights the mixed reception of this rollout.

While PCMag and Digital Trends focus on the ability of Copilot to answer questions about hardware health, other publications emphasize a significant irony regarding the tool's resource consumption. Windows Latest reports that the Copilot app itself may use 1GB of RAM while attempting to identify the causes of system slowdowns. PC Gamer also notes that the tool could be swallowing RAM while users are trying to track down system resource issues, leading to concerns about the software's efficiency. This development represents a shift toward integrating AI directly into system diagnostics for Windows 11. TechRadar reports that some users are already skeptical, with some claiming the app is bloated or questioning if the AI's insights are entirely accurate.

The feature is being positioned as a way to make technical troubleshooting more accessible by replacing manual searches through system logs with a conversational interface. News18 and gbhackers.com describe this as an AI-powered diagnostic tool intended to alert users to performance drops in real-time. Looking forward, the industry is watching to see if Microsoft can optimize the memory footprint of the Copilot app. As Tech Edition and cyberpress.org indicate that the feature is still in a testing phase, the primary point of interest will be whether the 1GB RAM usage reported by Windows Latest is reduced in the final release. Further updates will likely clarify whether Copilot's diagnostic accuracy can satisfy the skeptical users mentioned by TechRadar and if the tool will expand its capabilities beyond basic hardware health and system slowdowns.
