## Intelligence Brief
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is concluding his leadership of the United Kingdom. During this final session, he faced Kemi Badenoch. Following this parliamentary appearance, Reuters and politico.eu report that French President Emmanuel Macron awarded the outgoing Prime Minister the Légion d’honneur, which is described as France's top honor, serving as a parting gift as Starmer prepares to leave office next week. Coverage of the event emphasizes the emotional and ceremonial nature of Starmer's exit. The BBC reports a scene characterized by tributes and tears during the final question session. This reporting highlights a specific interaction between Starmer and Kemi Badenoch, noting that the two shared jokes and tributes during their final PMQs together.

The Telegraph focuses on Starmer's own assessment of his tenure, quoting the Prime Minister as stating that he has left Britain in a better place and specifically that he left Britain better than he found it. Other outlets, including WRAL and TribLIVE.com, provided factual coverage of the session's occurrence in Parliament. Contextual analysis from politico.eu examines the historical precedent of how previous prime ministers have handled their final PMQs to provide a framework for Starmer's departure. The Hill reports that Starmer explicitly framed the conclusion of this session as the end of his political journey. This transition comes at a critical juncture for the UK leadership, as Starmer is scheduled to officially leave office next week. The award of the Légion d’honneur by President Macron underscores the diplomatic relationship between France and the UK during Starmer's term as leader.

Observers will look toward the formal transfer of power occurring next week as Starmer officially vacates his position. While coverage specifies that his political journey is over, the immediate focus remains on the final administrative steps of his departure. Future reports are expected to detail the transition of leadership following the conclusion of these parliamentary and diplomatic ceremonies. The specific timing of his exit is established by NBC News, which notes that the departure from office will take place within the coming week.
