> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-07-15 21:07 UTC · Category: Technology

## Executive Summary
PlayStation Plus Extra expands its July 2026 catalog with high-profile titles including Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

## Intelligence Brief
According to reporting from Video Games Chronicle and PlayStation LifeStyle, the additions include the open-world RPG Rise of the Ronin, which is a PS5 exclusive, as well as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Multiple gaming outlets are emphasizing the quality and nature of these additions. Polygon.com specifically highlights the arrival of one of the best soulslike games currently available on the platform. Meanwhile, PlayStation LifeStyle focuses on the technical specifications of the new content, noting that the service has added a PlayStation 5 exclusive open-world RPG to its rotation.

These reports collectively signal a significant expansion of the Extra tier's library for the mid-summer period. To understand the context of these updates, it is necessary to note that PlayStation Plus Extra serves as a subscription tier that provides a rotating library of games. The inclusion of a PS5 exclusive title like Rise of the Ronin and a major franchise title like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora suggests a strategy of adding high-value, open-world experiences to the catalog. This allows subscribers to access expensive, large-scale RPGs without purchasing them individually, increasing the perceived value of the monthly membership.

Looking forward, observers will be monitoring the full rollout of July's catalog titles. While Video Games Chronicle and other sources have identified the primary additions, coverage from Push Square indicates that the availability of these titles is currently active. Users will be watching to see if any further titles are added to the July list beyond the mentioned open-world experiences and soulslike titles already confirmed by the reporting outlets.
