## Executive Summary
South Carolina Republicans are weighing bids for the Senate seat vacated by the death of Lindsey Graham as state officials set primary rules.

## Intelligence Brief
Following the death of Senator Lindsey Graham, multiple Republican figures in South Carolina are contemplating bids for his vacant Senate seat. Representative Ralph Norman has explicitly stated he is 'interested' in the position and has outlined a set of priorities that he will consider before making a final decision on whether to enter the race. Alongside Norman, other political figures are facing increasing public speculation regarding their intentions. Specifically, Representative Nancy Mace is considering a run for the seat, and Representative William Timmons has addressed the ongoing speculation about a possible campaign for the vacancy. Coverage of the developing political landscape is being led by several regional and national outlets. Fox Business focused on Rep.

Ralph Norman's stated interest and his priority-setting process. Politico reported on the considerations of Nancy Mace, while FOX Carolina News and WYFF both highlighted William Timmons as he spoke on the speculation surrounding his potential candidacy. These reports collectively illustrate a crowded field of potential GOP challengers emerging in the wake of the Senator's passing, with each candidate carefully navigating their public announcements. State officials have already begun establishing the logistical framework for the replacement process. According to reports from WYFF, South Carolina has set specific rules for the special Republican primary. Further clarity on voter eligibility has been provided by SC officials and reported by WIS News 10.

A critical detail regarding the electoral process, highlighted by the Post and Courier, is that South Carolina Democrats who participated in the June primary are barred from taking part in the Republican process to replace Graham. This ensures a closed process for the GOP selection. Future developments will center on whether the interested parties officially file for candidacy. Observers will be watching to see if Ralph Norman's priorities lead him to a formal announcement and if Nancy Mace or William Timmons move beyond the stage of consideration and speculation. The timeline for the special primary will be governed by the rules already established by South Carolina officials. The primary focus remains on the Republican internal selection process and the specific eligibility requirements for voters as the state moves to fill the vacancy.
