## Executive Summary
Tom Cruise and IShowSpeed are joining an A-list cast of performers for the 2026 World Cup closing ceremony and final match events.

## Intelligence Brief
The 2026 World Cup final is set to feature a high-profile series of entertainment segments, including a closing ceremony and a half-time show. According to reports from AP News, Deadline, and The Guardian, actor Tom Cruise and content creator IShowSpeed have both been added to the cast of performers for the closing ceremony. Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter notes that Jennifer Hudson has been scheduled to perform the national anthem during the event. These appearances mark a significant effort by FIFA to integrate global celebrity presence into the sporting spectacle, with The Hill describing the lineup as a collection of A-list performers designed to elevate the final match's visibility. Considerable media attention is currently focused on the logistics of the half-time interval, with varying reports regarding its duration.

The Times reports that FIFA intends to break traditional rules by implementing a 30-minute half-time break. However, other outlets provide different estimates; The New York Times states that FIFA is targeting a 20-minute break, while the BBC reports that the interval could last up to 25 minutes. ESPN is actively covering the event's timing and accessibility, providing details on the start time and how viewers in the UK can watch the proceedings, while also predicting potential setlists for the half-time and closing performances. This level of celebrity involvement and the extension of the half-time break highlight a shift in how the World Cup final is staged as a global entertainment product. Sports Illustrated is providing comprehensive details on every celebrity performer involved in the 2026 closing ceremony acts.

The tension between the reported durations of the half-time break suggests a deviation from standard football match regulations to accommodate these complex entertainment segments. The inclusion of diverse figures, ranging from traditional cinema stars like Cruise to digital personalities like IShowSpeed, indicates a strategy to reach multiple demographic audiences simultaneously. Moving forward, coverage will likely center on the official confirmation of the half-time duration as the discrepancy between the 20, 25, and 30-minute reports is resolved. Future updates from ESPN and other sports news organizations are expected to reveal the specific setlists and the exact sequence of events for the closing ceremony. Observers will be watching for the final confirmation of how the national anthem performance by Jennifer Hudson and the appearances by Cruise and IShowSpeed will be integrated into the match day schedule and whether any further A-list names are added to the roster.
