## Executive Summary
Pro Tour Magic: The Gathering returns to Amsterdam with a historic shift back to Draft for the Top 8 finals.

## Intelligence Brief
MagicCon Amsterdam is set to open this Friday, serving as the venue for the return of Pro Tour Magic: The Gathering. A significant development in this event is the return of the Draft format for the Top 8 competition, a structural change that Tech Times reports has not occurred in 15 years. This shift marks a return to a previous competitive standard for the game's highest level of play. The event is coinciding with a broader focus on both competitive play and new product releases within the franchise. Coverage from magic.gg has focused heavily on the technical aspects of the competition, highlighting the most competitive Modern decklists currently being utilized at the Pro Tour.

Additionally, magic.gg is providing detailed accounts and tales from the Top 8 Drafts, offering an inside look at the strategic decisions made by the finalists. These reports emphasize the intersection of deck building and real-time drafting skills required to succeed in the current tournament environment. Parallel to the professional tournament, there is a significant market push for Marvel-themed expansions. Mashable reports a limited-time deal on the Marvel Super Heroes Draft Night box, which has dropped in price to under $100. Similarly, IGN has provided details regarding Amazon bundle discounts specifically for MTG Marvel Commander Decks.

Draftsim has also released a comprehensive guide focused on the Marvel Super Heroes Draft, suggesting a strong overlap between the Pro Tour excitement and the adoption of these new thematic sets. Observers should monitor the outcomes of the Top 8 Drafts in Amsterdam to see how players adapt to a format not seen in the finals for over a decade. Attention is also directed toward the availability of the Marvel Super Heroes product, as limited-time pricing and Amazon bundles continue to drive consumer interest. Further updates from magic.gg are expected to clarify which specific Modern decklists dominated the field as the event progresses through its opening weekend.
