## Executive Summary
RPCS3 claims three‑quarters of the PS3 library now runs on PC, a boost arriving as Sony prepares to shut its PS3 and PS Vita stores.

## Intelligence Brief
The figure of 75 % appears in reports from GamingOnLinux, Tom’s Hardware and VideoCardz.com. The announcement arrived weeks after news that Sony plans to close the PlayStation Store for both PS3 and PS Vita platforms. Tom’s Hardware highlighted the timing of the announcement, linking it to Sony’s impending store shutdown. Polygon and DualShockers contributed related coverage, focusing on the dwindling availability of legacy titles for PS1, PS2 and PS Vita, underscoring the broader preservation challenge.

VideoCardz.com echoed the 75 % compatibility claim without adding new detail. The relevance of the milestone stems from Sony’s plan to discontinue digital distribution for PS3 and PS Vita, leaving many titles accessible only through physical media or emulation. Earlier coverage from Polygon listed the twelve rarest PS1 and PS2 games still purchasable, while DualShockers identified ten PS Vita titles worth acquiring before the store’s closure. The RPC 3 development therefore offers a potential route for players to experience a large portion of the PS3 catalog without relying on the soon‑to‑expire online storefronts.

Future monitoring should focus on whether RPC 3 expands compatibility beyond the current 75 % threshold and how the emulator’s growth interacts with Sony’s store shutdown timeline. Additional reports from the same outlets may detail specific titles that become playable, or note any legal or technical responses from Sony. Observers will also watch for community‑driven benchmarks that could confirm performance levels on typical PC hardware.
