Both outlets noted that marketing images of the device were released right before the scheduled Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. The Verge article emphasizes the design shift, describing the wide display as a notable evolution for the Z Fold line. 9to5Google complements this by publishing a gallery of the leaked marketing photos, underscoring the timing of the release just before the Unpacked keynote. Mashable’s piece, titled “Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is almost here,” outlines broader expectations for the July 22 event, listing potential announcements and noting the rumored surprise items alongside the Z Fold 8.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked has become an annual platform for unveiling flagship smartphones, foldable devices, and emerging wearables.
