## Executive Summary
Iran has targeted critical water and power infrastructure in Kuwait amid escalating retaliatory strikes between the United States and Tehran.

## Intelligence Brief
Reports indicate that Iran has launched strikes against critical infrastructure in Kuwait, specifically targeting a water desalination plant and a power plant. According to the Kuwait army, these attacks involved the use of drones, which resulted in several personnel being wounded. This event is part of a wider sequence of hostilities, with Kuwaiti officials stating that the strike on the desalination plant is the second such attack to occur within a two-day window. A Kuwaiti oil firm has also confirmed that its facility sustained damage due to these repeated Iranian attacks, signaling a direct hit on the nation's essential utility and energy sectors. Major international outlets are providing extensive coverage of the escalation. AP News highlights how the damage to the desalination plant exposes severe water vulnerabilities in the arid Middle East region.

Bloomberg.com and CNBC report that the attacks on the power and water plants have caused oil prices to rise. Additionally, Haaretz and France 24 provide live updates on the damage to electrical generation and desalination stations. The Times of Israel has detailed the casualties involved, citing the Kuwaiti army's report of wounded personnel following the drone strikes, while the Los Angeles Times and ABC News emphasize the regional nature of the conflict. The current strikes in Kuwait are situated within a broader cycle of escalation between the United States and Iran. According to France 24, the United States has launched a seventh consecutive night of attacks, specifically targeting bridges. This US escalation has prompted Iran to ramp up retaliatory measures across the region.

DW.com and the Los Angeles Times report that while the US focuses on bridge infrastructure, Tehran is responding by hitting desalination and power facilities. The coverage characterizes this as a widening war threat, with France 24 reporting that Tehran has now threatened to launch a 'full-scale' offensive in response to the ongoing US military operations. Observers are now monitoring the potential for further retaliation and the stability of regional energy markets. Based on the reports from CNBC, the impact on oil prices is already a primary concern following the strikes on Kuwaiti infrastructure. The international community is watching to see if Tehran follows through on its threat of a full-scale offensive as the US continues its night of attacks. Furthermore, the continued targeting of water desalination plants suggests that water security may remain a central point of vulnerability and a strategic target as hostilities between the US and Iran worsen across the Middle East.
