## Executive Summary
MLB trade deadline shifts to Aug 3, sparking analysis of six sellers, edge clubs and a handful of power‑brokers.

## Intelligence Brief
The shift in the deadline gives teams an extended window to negotiate, and the early reporting highlights a market that is already stratifying between clear sellers and those weighing options. Yahoo Sports adds a quantitative layer by ranking the top 25 deadline candidates, suggesting a hierarchy of players who may attract interest. Channel 3000 narrows the lens further, naming five franchises that could “hold all the cards,” implying a concentration of bargaining power among a limited group of clubs.

The trade deadline traditionally marks the last point in the season when clubs can reshuffle rosters for a postseason push, making the timing of any reset a pivotal factor for front offices. An extended deadline to early August allows teams more time to assess injuries, performance trends, and financial considerations before committing to moves. The progression of the top 25 candidate list will reveal which players gain traction in negotiations, and the actions of the five franchises highlighted by Channel 3000 will indicate whether a small cohort can dominate trade activity.

Continued reporting from the Boston Globe, Yahoo Sports, and Channel 3000 is expected to track these developments day by day.
