## Executive Summary
The NHL is expanding its international reach and broadcasting strategy as the 2026-27 regular-season schedules are revealed.

## Intelligence Brief
The National Hockey League has officially released the regular-season schedules for the 2026-27 campaign, including specific details regarding the New Jersey Devils. These specific timing arrangements are designed to increase visibility in global markets. The scheduling rollout has begun across various official and media channels as the league prepares for the upcoming year of competition. Media coverage from various outlets is highlighting different aspects of the new schedule.

ESPN has announced a tripleheader for the NHL opening night, emphasizing the league's primary broadcasting partnerships and the desire for a high-impact start to the season. Meanwhile, NHL.com has focused on the specific itinerary for the New Jersey Devils, providing the full regular-season reveal for that franchise. Contextual analysis from sports media outlets suggests that the scheduling process creates distinct advantages and disadvantages for different teams. For instance, Channel 3000 has reported on the 'winners and losers' of the 2026-27 schedule, specifically noting that the Chicago Blackhawks did not receive any favorable scheduling breaks.

This indicates that the league's logistics for travel and game timing can impact team preparation. Additionally, local coverage, such as the Florida Panthers offseason discussions mentioned by Litter Box Cats, shows continued fan and media engagement as teams transition from the offseason to the structured regular-season calendar. Looking forward, observers will be monitoring the execution of the ESPN opening night tripleheader to see how the league manages its early-season viewership. As the 2026-27 season approaches, the focus remains on how these scheduling anomalies and broadcasting decisions will influence both the competitive landscape for teams like the Blackhawks and the overall growth of the sport's global footprint.
