## Executive Summary
New satellite imagery confirms the destruction of a Russian Tu-95MS bomber at the Engels airbase following a long-range Ukrainian strike.

## Intelligence Brief
Ukrainian forces have targeted and destroyed a Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber located at the Engels airbase. According to reports from the Kyiv Post and Українська правда, the operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine, known as the SBU. This strike is particularly notable for its distance, as the Kyiv Post reports the target was located 800 km inside Russian territory. President Zelensky has officially confirmed the success of the operation, which resulted in the loss of the aircraft at the specified facility. Multiple media outlets are reporting on the event with a focus on visual verification.

UNITED24 Media and the publication Мілітарний both highlight the role of new satellite images in confirming the destruction of the Tu-95MS bomber. ABC News & Headlines from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation also reported that Ukraine claimed the destruction of the bomber at the base. The coverage emphasizes the use of orbital imagery to validate the claims made by Ukrainian officials regarding the impact of the strikes on the Engels installation. The Engels airbase serves as a critical hub for Russian long-range aviation. The Tu-95MS bombers stationed there are capable of carrying out strategic missions, making them high-value targets for Ukrainian intelligence and military operations.

The ability of the SBU to conduct a strike 800 km inside Russia, as detailed by the Kyiv Post, underscores a significant escalation in the reach of Ukrainian offensive capabilities and their ability to penetrate deep into Russian airspace to hit strategic assets. Future developments will likely center on the analysis of the satellite imagery to determine the full extent of the damage at the Engels airbase. Observers will be monitoring for further statements from President Zelensky or the SBU regarding the methods used to achieve such a long-range strike. Additionally, coverage will likely follow whether Russia acknowledges the loss of the Tu-95MS aircraft or implements new defensive measures at the base to prevent similar incursions in the future.
