According to reports from Fox News, the original series villain is returning to the franchise. Specifically, BroadwayWorld reports that Alison Arngrim is appearing in the production, taking on the role of Ida. This return coincides with the introduction of a new actress to play the role of Nellie, a transition that has prompted discussions regarding the legacy of the original characters and the direction of the new season. Coverage from People.com and Yahoo emphasizes the reactions of the original cast members to the new production.

Crosby Fitzgerald, a star in the reboot, stated in an exclusive interview that receiving approval from former cast members Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim means a lot to him. This shift allows the reboot to maintain a connection to the original source material while updating the cast for a new generation. The recasting of Nellie represents a significant change in the show's character dynamics for the upcoming episodes. Future developments to watch include further details on the specific nature of the warning the original villain provides to the new Nellie, as mentioned by Fox News.
