## Executive Summary
Ubisoft is bringing Ghost Recon: Wildlands to current-gen consoles with a high-performance Definitive Edition upgrade.

## Intelligence Brief
Ubisoft has officially confirmed the release of Ghost Recon: Wildlands Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. This updated version of the action game, which originally launched in 2017 for the PlayStation 4, is designed to leverage current-generation hardware. According to reports from Military.com and player.one, the release is confirmed for both the Sony and Microsoft platforms, marking a significant technical leap for the title. The update aims to modernize the experience for players on the latest console hardware. Coverage from several outlets indicates that the news first surfaced through leaks before the official confirmation.

Yahoo Tech and AOL.com both reported on a leaked PlayStation 5 update for the popular 2017 action title. Simultaneously, Pure Xbox noted that the Xbox Store quietly leaked a major upgrade for Ghost Recon Wildlands. These reports highlights a coordinated rollout across different digital storefronts, emphasizing that the upgrade is intended for a broad audience across multiple gaming ecosystems including the Series S and Series X. The context of this release centers on the age of the original software and the capabilities of the PS4 era. Because the game was originally released in 2017, this Definitive Edition serves as a bridge to ensure the title remains playable and visually competitive on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.

By targeting the current-gen hardware, Ubisoft is updating a title that has already seen widespread popularity, ensuring that the 2017 action game can now utilize the increased processing power of modern systems to provide a different technical experience. Future developments to watch include the specific rollout dates and the availability of the Definitive Edition on digital stores. While player.one and Military.com have confirmed the release, the specific deployment schedule across the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X platforms remains a key point of interest. Users will likely be monitoring the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store for the official appearance of the title. Current coverage does not specify a precise launch date, but the confirmation from Ubisoft ensures the upgrade is officially in development for the specified consoles.
