## Executive Summary
Marvel head Kevin Feige says the unmade 'Blade' reboot makes him feel like a loser.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent entertainment reporting details comments from Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige regarding the long-delayed and unmade 'Blade' reboot starring Mahershala Ali. According to coverage from outlets including Variety, People.com, MovieWeb, The Playlist, Yahoo, Kotaku, Dark Horizons, Collider, The News International, Polygon.com, and IGN, Feige openly stated that the inability to get the project off the ground leaves him feeling like a gigantic loser and failure. The statements emerged as Marvel Studios addresses the fate of the long-awaited movie ahead of the release of the 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer. Coverage across the publications emphasizes several additional topics addressed by Feige during the same period.

The Playlist and Dark Horizons report that Feige debunked rumors regarding 'Avengers: Secret Wars' splitting into two separate films and downplayed talk of an overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot while acknowledging the roadmap found in Jonathan Hickman comic books. Meanwhile, Polygon.com noted that Feige officially responded to circulating casting rumors regarding the X-Men, and IGN highlighted comments regarding actor Adam Driver turning down Marvel roles as a running tradition. The discussions surrounding the 'Blade' project bring forward significant background regarding the troubled development cycle of the film. Outlets like Collider note that seven years have passed since the initial announcement, with Feige taking personal responsibility for what is characterized as one of Marvel's biggest failures.

Despite the protracted setbacks and delays that prevented Mahershala Ali's version from getting off the ground, coverage from The Playlist records that Feige remains vocal about being excited to have previously brought back original franchise star Wesley Snipes. As the industry reacts to these admissions, ongoing coverage does not yet specify a finalized production timeline or a definitive release date for the troubled project. Future developments will likely depend on Marvel Studios' upcoming slate announcements, particularly as attention shifts toward major releases like 'Avengers: Doomsday'. Observers and fans monitoring the studio will be tracking whether the acknowledged failures lead to structural changes in how Marvel handles delayed intellectual properties or if the studio will provide further clarity on the characters involved.
