## Executive Summary
PlayStation Plus has confirmed that nine titles will be removed from its service library during August 2026.

## Intelligence Brief
Sony has officially confirmed that nine games will be leaving the PlayStation Plus service in August 2026. This announcement marks a scheduled transition of titles away from the platform, meaning subscribers will lose access to these specific games once the August deadline passes. While the specific list of titles is the primary focus of the update, the coverage focuses on the fact that these removals are now confirmed and finalized for the coming month. Multiple technology and gaming outlets are reporting on these developments simultaneously. Polygon.com and Insider Gaming have both highlighted the exact number of games being removed, specifying that nine titles are exiting the service. Push Square provided additional detail by noting that these removals specifically affect the PS Plus Extra tier.

Other major reporting comes from Yahoo and Engadget, both of which have confirmed the August 2026 timeline for these departures. The consistency across these five sources indicates a coordinated announcement regarding the service's library rotation. To understand the significance of this event, users must recognize that PlayStation Plus operates on a rotating library system. Games are added and removed based on licensing agreements and service tiers. The removal of nine games in a single month represents a standard but impactful shift in the available content for Extra tier subscribers. Because these games are leaving the ecosystem, users who wish to continue playing them after August 2026 will likely need to seek alternative ways to access the software, as the service no longer provides them for free to subscribers.

Looking forward, the primary point of interest for users is the specific identity of the nine games being removed. While the coverage confirms the quantity and the date, players are monitoring updates to see which titles are specifically affected. Future updates from outlets like Polygon.com and Push Square are expected to provide the full list of games. For now, the confirmed fact remains that the PlayStation Plus library will shrink by nine titles during August 2026, prompting users to complete any remaining progress in those games before they disappear.
