## Executive Summary
Meta is integrating the Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition into its Horizon+ subscription, expanding gaming access for Quest VR users.

## Intelligence Brief
Xbox and Meta have announced a partnership to expand the availability of Xbox Game Pass. Specifically, the Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition is now included as part of the Meta Horizon+ subscription service. This integration allows users of Meta's Quest VR hardware to access Xbox content through their existing Horizon subscription. Extensive coverage of this development has come from major technology and news outlets. Reuters, The Verge, and Engadget all reported that the Horizon+ subscription now includes the starter edition of the game service.

Windows Central and Road to VR provided additional technical details, noting that Quest VR is gaining Xbox Game Pass access and that improved Xbox VR controller support is part of the update. Other reporting outlets including CNET, AOL.com, GamesIndustry.biz, and Pure Xbox have highlighted that this move brings the starter edition to a wider pool of players through the Meta Horizon partnership. This development matters because it bridges the gap between traditional console gaming subscriptions and the VR ecosystem. By including the Starter Edition in Horizon+, Meta is offering Quest subscribers a way to enter the Xbox ecosystem without a separate standalone subscription. According to reports from Windows Central and Road to VR, the integration is not limited to software access but also includes hardware considerations, specifically the mention of better controller support to improve the user experience within the VR environment.

Future developments to monitor include the implementation of new control features. Road to VR specifically mentions that gamepad emulation is coming soon to the platform. This suggests a continuing effort to refine how Xbox games are played on Quest hardware. The industry will be watching to see how many players adopt the Starter Edition through this bundle and whether further tiers of Game Pass are integrated into Meta's subscription models as the partnership between Xbox and Meta evolves.
