## Executive Summary
Iran-linked conflict threatens Red Sea shipping as Houthi threats loom over Bab al-Mandeb, tightening oil supply routes.

## Intelligence Brief
A new front in the Iran war is emerging in the Red Sea, where Houthi forces have warned of a possible blockade of the Bab al-Mandeb strait. Shipping vessels are reportedly turning around to avoid the threatened closure.

Forbes notes the turn‑around of ships following the Houthi warnings, while Bloomberg warns that losing control of one strategic strait has already proven costly and cautions against a second loss. CNN frames the situation as leaving oil with ‘no way out’ amid the escalating maritime risk.

Coverage suggests close monitoring of any Houthi actions to enforce a blockade, potential naval responses, and the consequent impact on global oil flows through the Red Sea corridor.
