## Executive Summary
The Miami Dolphins have secured All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks with a massive contract extension, ending trade speculation from other NFL teams.

## Intelligence Brief
The Miami Dolphins have officially signed linebacker Jordyn Brooks to a contract extension, ensuring that the All-Pro player remains a core part of the team's roster. Brooks, who is a former player for the Seattle Seahawks, has now secured what 12th Man Rising describes as a long-awaited reward following his tenure in Miami. The move signals the Dolphins' intent to maintain their defensive stability by retaining key personnel before the start of the new season. Coverage of the deal is widespread, with the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel highlighting the strategic nature of the extension. Chris Perkins of the Sun Sentinel specifically noted that the Dolphins are extending the contracts of the right players for the right reasons.

Yahoo Sports provided live updates on the news, while Sports Illustrated and Heavy.com focused on the implications for other franchises. These outlets emphasized that the extension effectively removes Brooks from the trade market, describing the deal as a massive agreement that secures an elite talent for the Miami organization. This news carries significant weight for other NFL teams that were reportedly interested in Brooks. According to Sports Illustrated and Heavy.com, the Dallas Cowboys had identified Brooks as a rumored trade target, but he is now considered off the board. Yahoo Sports further noted that the Cincinnati Bengals have also lost a popular trade target idea before their own training camp begins.

The inability to acquire Brooks has led some analysts, such as those at FanSided, to suggest alternative trade proposals between the Cowboys and the Vikings to fill the void left by Brooks' unavailability. Looking forward, the focus shifts to the Dolphins' training camp as rookies report and the team integrates its extended core players. Observers will be monitoring the impact of this retention on Miami's defensive performance, as Yahoo Sports reports that NFL experts currently rank three Dolphins players, including Brooks, as elite. The reaction from former teammates also persists, with former Dolphins offensive lineman Terron Armstead offering a huge reaction to the announcement of the deal. Future updates will likely center on how other teams, specifically the Cowboys and Bengals, pivot their roster strategies now that Brooks is unavailable.
