## Intelligence Brief
Johnny Depp has appeared at San Diego Comic-Con to promote his upcoming movie titled 'Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol (2026)'. During the event, the actor surprised the attending crowd while appearing in character as Ebenezer Scrooge. Reports indicate that the audience was elated by the appearance. As part of the promotional activities at the convention, Depp also encountered Edward Scissorhands, leading him to ask an obvious question during the meeting. The event was characterized by various celebrity moments, as noted by coverage from USA Today. Multiple outlets have focused heavily on the actor's physical transformation for the role.

Both InStyle and Yahoo report that Depp looks unrecognizable, specifically citing the use of long curly gray hair and mutton chops to achieve the look of the titular character. Kmph.com further details the scope of the event, noting that while Depp promoted 'Ebenezer', other activities included ENHYPEN members meeting the cast of 'Twilight'. The visual impact of the costume has become a central point of discussion across these entertainment news sources. The appearance is being framed by some media outlets as a strategic move in the actor's professional trajectory. The Mercury News describes the Comic-Con appearance as a 'stunt' associated with an attempted 'comeback tour'. This sentiment of a professional return is echoed by The Guardian, which explicitly mentions the prospect of a 'big Hollywood comeback' in its commentary regarding Depp's casting as Scrooge.

The coverage suggests that this role represents a significant pivot or return to the mainstream spotlight for the performer. Future developments to monitor include the official release and reception of 'Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol (2026)', as the film is now listed in the IMDb database. Based on the current reports, attention will likely remain on whether the 'comeback tour' mentioned by The Mercury News continues through further promotional events. Observers will also be tracking public and critical reactions to the specific aesthetic choices made for the character, given the emphasis on his unrecognizable appearance at the San Diego convention.
