## Executive Summary
The highly anticipated Tomb Raider: Catalyst for PS5 has been officially pushed back to a 2028 release date by Amazon.

## Intelligence Brief
The upcoming video game title Tomb Raider: Catalyst, featuring the protagonist Lara Croft, has been officially delayed. According to reports from Polygon.com and TechPowerUp, the game is now scheduled for release in 2028. This announcement marks a significant shift in the timeline for the PS5 title. The delay was orchestrated by the Amazon Gaming Boss, as detailed by Wccftech, moving the launch date well beyond the original expectations for the project's delivery. Coverage of this event is widespread across major gaming and technology outlets.

Eurogamer.net emphasizes that this is not an isolated incident, noting that Amazon has delayed another Tomb Raider game in addition to this specific title. Wccftech provides further strategic context, reporting that the Amazon Gaming Boss is betting that Luna can serve as a legitimate replacement for traditional console gaming. Meanwhile, Kotaku highlights a specific consequence of this scheduling shift, stating that the delay means there will be no disc version of the game available on the PlayStation platform. To understand the significance of this development, it is necessary to look at the corporate involvement of Amazon in the franchise. The coverage indicates that Amazon's gaming leadership is steering the direction of these releases.

The shift toward Luna suggests a broader corporate strategy to move away from physical media and toward cloud-based gaming solutions. This transition is underscored by the report from Kotaku regarding the absence of a physical disc for the PlayStation version, signaling a move toward a digital-only distribution model for Catalyst. Looking forward, observers are monitoring the integration of the Tomb Raider franchise into the Luna ecosystem. Because the Amazon Gaming Boss has positioned Luna as a legitimate console replacement, the 2028 release of Tomb Raider: Catalyst will likely serve as a test for this cloud-gaming ambition. Additionally, since Eurogamer.net mentioned that Amazon has delayed multiple games in the series, future updates regarding the broader release schedule for Lara Croft titles will be critical to determine if further delays are expected for other projects.
