## Executive Summary
Katy Perry is condemning the Trump administration after the White House used her hit song 'Firework' in a military strike video.

## Intelligence Brief
Pop star Katy Perry has publicly condemned the Trump administration following the White House's decision to use her song 'Firework' in a video depicting military strikes. According to reports from The Hill, the footage in question was posted to TikTok and specifically showcased a strike on Iran. Perry expressed that she is 'deeply appalled' by the administration's choice of music to accompany these military operations. The singer has voiced her anger and disapproval regarding the application of her creative work in a context involving warfare and military aggression. Coverage of the incident is widespread across multiple media outlets, including Deadline, Mediaite, and Yahoo.

These reports emphasize Perry's emotional response, with Deadline noting she is 'deeply appalled' and Mediaite highlighting that the star is both 'appalled and angry.' The Independent reports that Perry specifically railed against the Trump administration for 'celebrating warfare' through the use of her song. Additionally, Bloomberg.com and KOMO have detailed the singer's decrying of the White House for using the track in a post centered on the Iran war, marking a sharp public conflict between the artist and the government. The context of this dispute centers on the unauthorized nature of the music's use. The Independent explicitly notes that the use of 'Firework' in the military bombing video was unauthorized. This indicates a conflict over intellectual property and the moral implications of using a pop song to soundtrack military action.

The situation has escalated because the content was shared on a high-visibility platform like TikTok, bringing the White House's promotional tactics for military strikes into direct opposition with Perry's personal and professional values regarding peace and the purpose of her music. Looking forward, the situation remains centered on Perry's ongoing condemnation of the Trump administration's actions. Based on the reports from TMZ and other outlets, the focus will be on the aftermath of Perry's eruption against the White House. While the coverage does not yet specify if legal action for the unauthorized use of the song will be pursued, the immediate tension stems from the White House using a hit song to frame imagery of bombing and warfare. Observers will be watching for any further responses from the Trump administration regarding Perry's public outcry and the specific use of her music in the Iran-related video content.
