## Executive Summary
Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd makes history as the first rookie to win the WNBA All-Star 3-point shootout, defeating Carleton of the Fire.

## Intelligence Brief
Azzi Fudd of the Dallas Wings has emerged as the champion of the WNBA All-Star 3-point shootout. According to reports from ESPN and CBS News, Fudd secured the victory by topping Carleton of the Fire in the competition. This achievement is particularly notable as The Boston Globe and CBS News both highlight that Fudd is the first rookie in the history of the league to win the 3-point shootout. The event took place during the WNBA All-Star weekend, marking a significant individual milestone for the rookie player in her debut professional season. Coverage of the event is widespread across major sports and news outlets.

Yahoo Sports and The New York Times provided comprehensive guides and updates on the festivities, noting that the weekend included not only the 3-point contest but also the new Shooting Stars event. Yahoo Sports specifically named Shakira Austin, Elena Delle Donne, and GG Banks as participants in the Shooting Stars Challenge. The official WNBA communications also confirmed the participants for the 2026 Kia WNBA Shooting Stars, emphasizing the league's expansion of its All-Star programming to include these diverse skill competitions. Contextual tension has surrounded the event, as reported by Fox News. Lynx star Kayla McBride has voiced criticism regarding the 3-point contest, describing the invitation process as a 'half a-- invite.' This indicates existing drama or dissatisfaction among some of the league's established stars regarding how participants were selected for the shootout.

Meanwhile, Fudd has used her victory to draw attention toward a high-profile crossover challenge, with Yahoo Sports reporting that the new 3-point champion has called out Steph Curry, stating that she has 'been asking for a rematch.' Looking forward, the coverage suggests that the focus will remain on the implications of Fudd's historic win as a rookie and the potential for a challenge involving Steph Curry. The league's introduction of the Shooting Stars event also marks a new addition to the All-Star weekend tradition that may be monitored for future iterations. Because coverage does not specify the exact scoring or the full list of all contest participants beyond those mentioned, the primary remaining point of interest is the resolution of the controversy mentioned by Kayla McBride regarding the invitation process.
