## Executive Summary
The Houston Astros have placed pitcher Spencer Arrighetti on the 15-day injured list due to a painful nerve issue in his foot.

## Intelligence Brief
The Houston Astros have officially placed Spencer Arrighetti on the 15-day injured list. This move follows a foot injury that has severely limited the pitcher's ability to perform on the mound. According to reports, Arrighetti has reached a point where he can only tolerate pitching for one inning before the pain becomes significant. The injury has been specifically identified as nerve irritation in the foot, which led to his exit from recent competition. Major sports media outlets are closely tracking the development of this injury.

ESPN and MLB Trade Rumors both confirmed the placement of Arrighetti on the 15-day IL, while NBC Sports detailed that the pitcher exited play specifically due to a nerve issue in his foot. MLB.com provided further insight into the severity of the condition, noting that Arrighetti described the foot injury as being really painful. Additionally, Yahoo Sports reported that the Astros provided an injury update regarding the player immediately before a game against the White Sox. This situation matters now because the 15-day injured list designation removes Arrighetti from the active roster, impacting the Astros' pitching rotations and depth. The specifics of the injury—nerve irritation—suggest a condition that affects balance and stability, which is critical for a professional pitcher.

The fact that the player could only tolerate a single inning of work underscores the physical limitation he is currently facing and why the team deemed a medical hiatus necessary before a matchup with the White Sox. Future developments will center on Arrighetti's recovery timeline during his stint on the 15-day injured list. Observers will look for further updates from the Houston Astros regarding his progress and whether the nerve irritation will require extended treatment. Based on the current coverage, the team's next steps involve managing the rotation in his absence and monitoring the healing process of the foot to determine when he can again tolerate more than one inning of play.
