## Executive Summary
Mike Flanagan expands his Stephen King cinematic universe as Prime Video unveils the trailer and October release date for the new 'Carrie' series.

## Intelligence Brief
Director Mike Flanagan is bringing a modern-day retelling of Stephen King's first story, 'Carrie,' to Prime Video. The production recently released its first teaser trailer and officially set an October release date for the series. According to reports from Yahoo, over 1,000 actors auditioned for the lead role of Carrie White before the final casting was decided. The series focuses on a version of the character who is a victim of cyberbullying, updating the classic high school horror elements for a contemporary setting. Major entertainment outlets including Variety, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter have highlighted the unveiling of the teaser and the release timeline.

Club and Gizmodo specifically emphasizes the teaser's depiction of the high school experience and the inclusion of cyberbullying. Mike Flanagan described the prom scene in the series as a "showstopper" and noted that it is the "most complex scene" he has ever filmed, as detailed in reporting from Yahoo. This project represents a continuation of Flanagan's work adapting the bibliography of Stephen King for the screen. The series is positioned as a modern interpretation of the source material, blending classic horror themes with current social dynamics. The scale of the casting process, involving more than a thousand candidates, underscores the importance of the lead role in executing this specific vision of Carrie White's struggle within her academic environment.

Attention now turns to the integration of Flanagan's other projects, as an exclusive report from Entertainment Weekly indicates that his upcoming work on 'The Mist' will take a cue from the 'Carrie' TV series. Viewers and critics are awaiting the full rollout in October to see how the "showstopper" prom sequence is realized. The coverage suggests that the technical complexity of these scenes and the thematic shift toward digital harassment will be central focal points of the production's debut.
