## Executive Summary
San Francisco 49ers kick off 2026 training camp with coach Shanahan, quarterback Purdy linking to Evans, and Bosa back on the field.

## Intelligence Brief
The opening days set the tone for roster evaluation and team chemistry. Coverage from multiple outlets highlighted distinct angles of the camp. CBS News emphasized the fan presence and the ceremonial start of camp. Sports Illustrated turned attention to three underdiscussed job openings emerging from the training environment, suggesting staff turnover considerations.

Niners Nation noted a recurring battle at the safety position for the second consecutive year, while the official San Francisco 49ers site praised flashes of defensive intensity and growing offensive cohesion. NBC Sports Bay Area & California listed the top five competitions to watch as the camp progressed, and Niners Wire reported a glimpse of change on the linebacker depth chart after Day 1. The early narratives reflect broader context for the franchise. The safety competition and linebacker depth chart adjustments indicate positional battles that could influence final roster decisions.

Meanwhile, the job openings highlighted by Sports Illustrated point to possible shifts in the coaching or support staff that may affect team operations. Looking ahead, observers will monitor how the safety rivalry develops over the next camp sessions, whether the linebacker depth chart continues to evolve, and which of the five highlighted competitions become decisive for player evaluation. The progression of the underdiscussed job openings will be tracked for announcements from the organization. Continued updates from the same outlets are expected as the camp moves beyond its initial days toward final roster cuts.
