## Executive Summary
Mike McCarthy confirms a major shift in Steelers training camp with the elimination of live tackling.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent coverage from multiple sports outlets details significant structural changes for the Pittsburgh Steelers as the team prepares for training camp. Coverage across the participating publications places heavy emphasis on the contrast between the current leadership and the methods of former coach Mike Tomlin. Yahoo Sports highlights commentary regarding these divergent approaches, incorporating perspectives involving other figures such as Mike Macdonald and Pete Carroll to contextualize the shift. Meanwhile, Steelers.com features insights from Khan and McCarthy regarding the necessity of laying a foundational framework during these critical camp sessions, noting the broader organizational embrace of change as the new coaching staff takes charge of the roster.

Additional reporting from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette explores the specific ways in which McCarthy's inaugural training camp differs structurally from the established practices of the Mike Tomlin era. While the sources establish that these procedural alterations are designed to establish a new foundation for the franchise, the specific long-term implications for player readiness and regular-season performance remain undefined by the current reports. Coverage does not yet specify how the coaching staff plans to evaluate player physicality and tackling fundamentals in the absence of traditional live-contact drills during these practices. As the team moves forward with these newly implemented camp protocols, observers will be tracking how players adapt to the absence of live tackling.

The available reporting establishes that both the front office and the coaching staff view these foundational steps as critical for the organization, but further updates will depend on future statements from the franchise and ongoing observations from the beat writers covering the sessions. Readers must rely on subsequent coverage from the aforementioned sports outlets to learn how these procedural adjustments translate into on-field performance once preseason activities officially get underway.
